Rosetta
The sassy, sarcastic teen with a temper quick to bite. Rosetta takes on the world with her boldness as she’s quick to snap at you. Despite her tomboyish choice of clothing, she enjoys fangirling over idols and wearing under-eye makeup because Ami taught her how to do it. Though bitter on the outside to others, she’ll always be soft and protective toward Ami.
Ami
The Bubbly, Bright Teen with a big smile. She can assert a crowd’s attention with her over-dramatic self and clumsiness that sometimes puts Rosetta on edge. Her choice of clothing isn’t favorable to her classmates as she gets bullied for looking “childish”, but she doesn’t bat an eye towards them. She doesn’t need to worry about them anyway, since Rosetta is always there to bark the bullies away.
Ami and Rosetta have been inseparable since the sandbox. Though their personalities fall on two ends of the stick, they enjoy many hobbies together, including fangirling over idol groups.
Dani
The leader of the hit idol group, Golden Melody. The fans love his confident sway and striking dance moves. He puts on a charming act for his fans but has the off-switch ready when it’s time to turn his back. He can’t help but feel envious of Sonny for being more popular ever since Pre-debut. His dark side would do anything to get his hands on fame.
Sonny
Ami and Rosetta’s favorite member (bias) of Golden Melody. His natural easygoing personality, radiant smile, and wide-range vocals make him Melody’s It boy. He enjoys the other members’ company, especially Dani since he has known him the longest. His disappearance has caused an uproar and fans are praying for his return.
Detective Javier
The worn-out detective who’s on the official case of the missing Sonny. Although, to his co-workers, he’s rude, negative, blunt, lazy, ill-tempered, etc (the list can go on), he’s one of the best detectives out there who pays great attention to detail, is keen to put pieces together, and can instantly tell when someone is lying. He initially didn’t take Sonny’s case seriously, believing the whole boy band concept is rubbish, but revealing truth puts his serious cap on to find the missing member of Golden Melody.
Pilot Summary
Act 1
Ami and Rosetta went over to Ami’s house after school. They have noticed their favorite member of the hit idol group, Sonny of Chasing Melody, hasn’t posted anything on social media in over 3 days. His last Nexugram post of the pier worried the girls, especially Ami. Rosetta scrounged the internet for anything else following his last post. She found a video of a fan spotting Sonny walking out of the corner deli and into the alleyway next to it. Before the video cuts, a figure in all black followed behind Sonny in the alleyway.
Act 2
Ami and Rosetta both had the same thought and took the chance. They followed the video they found on Bluebit(Reddit) and ended up at the corner deli by the city’s pier. They check the alleyway next to the deli and looked around. They thought they were at a dead end, until Rosetta spotted Sonny’s phone on the ground by the dumpster. The next morning, Sonny had been officially reported missing on the news.
Act 3
That next day, Detective Javier had been chosen to lead the case to find Sonny. He looked up recent videos and pictures of Sonny to build a profile of him. He found the last location where Sonny posted on his Blabber (Twitter), which was the pier, right by the water. Javier and his team headed to the pier and searched the water while fans surrounded them. After the relief of finding nothing, Javier interviewed nearby locations, including the corner deli. He followed surveillance footage to the alleyway, but found no evidence. Javier left the scene to prepare to interview the rest of Chasing Melody.
City Map
PopNexus Entertainment is a global music and entertainment corporation responsible for creating many idol groups with representation worldwide. Three years prior, PopNexus released a new boy group called Golden Melody. Golden Melody immediately captured the hearts of many, including young Ami and Rosetta, when they were in middle school. Three years later, the group is topping the music charts, making them unstoppable.
